The Pontiac Silverdome “Was Built Too Well”, Implosion Fails

Although the Pontiac Silverdome was scheduled to come down on Sunday, the stadium is still standing. The now outdated Pontiac Silverdome just outside Detroit​, was scheduled to be demolished on Sunday morning however there was one problem – the explosives placed in the steel beams went off but the Silverdome was built too well and is still standing.

City officials didn’t seem over concerned though:

The Silverdome was “built a little too well,” officials say.
“We just have to wait and let gravity do its job,” officials say. “It’s going to collapse, we just don’t know when.”
